Update: Did you feel that?

Did the earth move for you was that just AAAAAHHHHHHHH.....!!

Here's the roof they fell from

and here's the happy couple

(Columbia) - The Richland County Coroner has identified a man and woman who fell to their deaths from a building on Laurel Street in downtown Columbia.

Late Wednesday night, Coroner Gary Watts identified the victims as 21-year-old Brent Tyler of Hilton Head and 21-year-old Chelsea Tumbleston of the Isle of Palms. Watts says he believes the two are students.

An autopsy will be performed Thursday.

An employee of Wild Wings confirmed to News19 that Tyler and Tumbleston both worked at the Wild Wings location in the Vista. Tumbleston also worked at the location in Harbison.

Columbia Police Chief Dean Crisp says Tyler and Tubleston were found by a taxi driver in one of the lanes of the 900 block of Laurel Street around 5:30 a.m.

Sergeant Florence McCants says the victims fell 50 to 60 feet from the sloping metal roof of the Palmetto Armory Building. They were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and died a short time later. Crisp says the victims were found nude.

Police say there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs at the scene.

At this point, it appears the two got onto the roof by an adjacent parking garage. That's where officers say they found what they believe are the victim's clothes.

Naomi Mosley and her husband occasionally sleep at the parking garage where the couple gained access to the roof. She says she saw at least some of what led up to the deaths.

"I was getting up, packing up my stuff to get it out of the place," she says, when she noticed a young, nude couple arrive in a car, and climb onto the roof.

"When they came in, they was laughling, laughing and happy," says Mosley. "Her arm was up in the air, and he was pulling her up. He said 'baby I got you.'"

"If I could have gave them a warning, and tell them that's dangerous, go some other place," she says in retrospect.

Instead, Naomi says she and her husband decided to just mind their own business. They packed up their belongings and exited the parking garage around 5:30 a.m.

She then saw the taxi cab driver who found the bodies. Police were arriving to block off the streets.

"I said Lord God, I hope they gave their soul to you."

Naomi says it's a sight she wishes she'd never seen.

"Right now, I feel heartache that it happened. Because I don't want my worst enemy to fall off no roof like that."

Oh,do I love this quote..."I don't want my worst enemy to fall off no roof like that."
Who in the hell sleeps in a parking garage, and how can they be a credible witness???

I believe that they will eventually acknowledge that fact that the were doing it "doggy Stlye".. Obviously, there is less friction and more "thrusting power" (aka..momentum) whilst entering from behind versus the standard "missionary position", which would increase the coefficient of friction while having less momentum. Of couse, this could be a moot point if he had her legs bent back over her head in a "pile driver" type event.
Also, if she was on top, all bets could be off 'cause you know how bad women drivers are...

this would be a great tag line for the next CSI: Miami...

I notice they are going to do an autopsy

What do they expect to find?

What kind of inhumane people are you. Two people have died. And I know one of them. She was an extrodinary person. So iceman get a life and a soul- You should be ashamed of yourself.

If you knew her, can you explain why she was in the middle of such a risky behavior? I mean, really, the 'witness' said she was already nekkid before she climbed on the roof, and the po-po said they found the clothes in the garage. I was 19 once, and did some risky things, especially with regard to with whom I was having sex, but people are afraid of heights for a reason.

Why do you care why and how it happened!?!? For you to make light of such a horrible situation is idiotic.

You are too ignorant. I know Chelsea is in heaven. And had a heart of gold. Does the word heart mean anything to you - There is no evidence or prove to what happened on the roof. Check the Columbia paper and Charleston paper in the next couple of day. They are doing a tribute to who the real person she was. People do make mistkes let just hope yours are not published. Or better yet that nothing happens to you. With that being said I have never responded on-line to BS but I fell I had to on behave of a dear sweet child. No response is needed. I will not respond to any more selfless people.

you are obviously without the right fact. Check the Columbia paper and Charleston paper in the next day and see the tribute to how wonderful Chelsea was to alot of people. Everyone makes mistakes and I hope when you do it will not be public to teh media. I hope nothing happens to you. I know Chelsea is in heaven. No response needed.

Well, I guess the "anonymous" person melted the "iceman."

Hey Anonymous,
Ashamed of what, that the Darwinian THeory holds true??? I'm sorry that your "Extrodinary" friend died in an act of sexual stupidity... That does not garner respect and honor...that is reserved for those who have given their life to defend this country throughout the ages...
Your friend has left behind alot of hurt people, freinds, family, etc... and the lasting memory will always be that they died falling off of a parking garage roof while.... uuhhh, how can i say this so as not to offend you...mmmmmm, well okay.. they fell off of the parking garage roof FU**ING!!!!!

I cannot believe that so many people are on here making light of such a tragedy. It does not matter HOW it happened what matters now is that two people have lost their lives and have Mothers and Fathers , and brothers and sisters mourning. It is TOTALLY INSENSITIVE to have these comments posted! What if their grieving family ran across this?? ICEMAN ...you are a sorry excuse for a human being...Also, it's spelt FRIEND ...And I am sure she was a great one to many people!

and I think we here at 2GH2 should get credit for not pointing out the irony of Chelsea's last name.

"Tumbleston"

Okay Kids
Here's a reality check..
How many of "our kids" have died over in the Iraq and other places and all they get is a footnote on CNN (only to jam the current Administration). It is truly said that true fallen heroes are over shadowed by these two kids who in a moment of passion, have caught the media by storm.
If you really want to make a difference, go to a cemetery and weep, pray for those who have actually died for US. Go help the parentless children who live in sadness because Mommy or Daddy are never coming home because they were defending YOU !! the self rightous youth.
The question is this.. how many of you are willing to do something at a sacrafice.. I'm sorry if I offend you but I can look myself in the mirror every morning, without selfishness.

I only write what I see and feel, and this ranks right up there with Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, and all of the other self centered people in our society who garner the media because of their risky behavior.
Again, I sympathize with Chelsea's mom, she has to live with this "legacy" for the rest of her life...

PS and be sure to tell all of your friends that Al Gore is an idiot (I'm sure all of you believe in his documentary of stupidity)

Just another random, inhumane, selfless, non-soulful thought...
So where were all of these "Friends" when Chelsea really needed them????
I sense some guilt in all .
of this rage and aggression towards my comments..
In reality..THE Truth hurts

Hey Guy2 and Iceman - go to hell.

where were her friends at 4:30 in the morning? what are you doing at 4:30 in the morning? unfortunately, she works late into the morning because she was a manager. do you go online blogging on websites just for attention?

Unknown said...

and guy #2, i really hope you die in a way in which people laugh at how you died, but you wont. because you will die all by yourself and no one will care.

Tim said...

Samuel, do you not get it? Why are you commenting here, why is this story taking so much energy on a day when Carolinians are burying 9 brave firefighters. this is a commentary on society and you are making the point for us.

Unknown said...

you're right. let's trivialize a young, beautiful girl's life.

if that's what your so mad and uptight about, take your anger out on the press. don't make fun at someone's premature, albeit strange, death. yes it's a shame about soldiers dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, and about the firefighters who gave their lives in Charleston. But don't for one second think that Chelsea's death doesn't affect anyone.

Iceman said...

If our friend Samuel would take a step back and actually READ the story and think it out....this is not a story about innocent people...it is a tragic story about how noone is held responsible for their actions anymore. THe fact that they worked late has nothing to do with why they were Nekkid on top of a 4 story building.
BUT. NOBODY WANTS TO ACCEPT THAT FACT !!!!!!
I'm telling you the lawsuit is coming, just wait they'll find a way to blame it on someone else.
But to answer the question, I blog to point out how idiotic our society has become. Most of our Blogs are indeed sarcastic to show how self centered and moronic we have become as a society.
Again, lot's of love out their for this couple, it was just too late.

Iceman said...

Wow, he kind of gets it... too bad SHE did not think about the consequences either AND the lives she has changed (I....ONCE AGAIN, I will say that I feel for the parents (especially Chelsea's Mom), but I think that I keep repeating myself here) my virtual friends (G#2 & A-Queen) are doing their best to smooth things over with the angry virual mob.

I do feel for the recent 9 fireman and their families who gave up their own lifes for others. I am so sorry for their families and friends. Also, for the woman and men fighting for our country. I hope that no one forgets who they are and what they have done for everyone of us. My point is we should not make fun of someone's death or judge them because you never know who you are hurting so iceman and guy2 for one day try and understand the concequences in your action and understand we loved Chelsea no matter what happened that night and she will always be missed. And let's just let it go at that.
