Guitar Hero fans eager for fresh rock got some good news today, as several new songs from this summer's upcoming Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s release have been announced, albeit indirectly. First spotted by eagle-eyed fans in stores on the back of the pre-order box, the following previously-unannounced tunes have now been confirmed for us by a Red Octane spokesperson as part of the official song lineup:
"Caught In A Mosh" - Anthrax
"Hold On Loosely" - 38 Special
"Turning Japanese" - the Vapors
"No One Like You" - the Scorpions
"Seventeen" - Winger
"We Got The Beat" - the Go-Go's
"Wrathchild" - Iron Maiden
In addition, the official Guitar Hero website was recently updated with a 80's edition jukebox including the following songs:
"Balls to the Wall" - Accept
"Only a Lad" - Oingo Boingo
"The Warrior" - Scandal
Combined with 13 previously announced songs, this puts the known list of 80s-edition songs at 23/30, with more announcements surely coming before the game's July release.
